Traditional Publishing
I can help you prepare your submission proposal to publishers.
Traditional Publishing
I offer a range of editing services that help authors and businesses produce professional, high-quality publications.
Submissions
It’s tough to find a publisher who is willing to take a chance on an unknown author. So you want to make sure your submission follows the publisher’s guidelines exactly. There are three parts to a submission:
- The cover letter
- The synopsis
- The manuscript sample
Many publishers don’t accept unsolicited manuscripts so consider approaching literary agents too.
Do your homework
- Research publishers’ websites and make a list of the publishers who publish in your book’s genre. There’s no point submitting your thriller to a publisher who only publishes children’s books.
- Check each publisher’s website for their Guidelines to Authors and follow their instructions exactly.
- Find out who is responsible for accepting submissions and address your proposal to them.
- Make sure all your contact details are clearly displayed. Don’t make it hard for a publisher to contact you.
